Did you ever visit a hip hop website and feel like you didn't learn anything that day except what Lil' Wayne ate and what T.I. was arrested for? Did you ever feel that the hip hop site you frequent never covered the artists that you were interested in? Did you ever feel that nothing of substance was being covered or talked about? I know I did, and like a good friend once told me-- "Don't complain, affect change," and this is why Rhymehouse.com is here.

Mainstream rap music is currently being covered by thousands of websites. Each reporting the same news stories, the same albums, and the same artists. Rarely do any of these sites go outside of of the box and focus on artists that haven't already been shoved down our throats. Never do we see news stories, interviews, or reviews about independent artists get headline coverage. Instead, they are tucked away in hard to find places, pushed to the side by radio rap counterparts, or never touched on at all. Without a doubt there is still groundbreaking and entertaining hip hop music being made today. However, a large majority of it is not being covered by popular media outlets. But, why?

There is a whole WORLD of passionate, thought provoking, and moving music that is never showcased to the new generation of hip hop fans. Instead, you have the top hip hop websites featuring porn conventions, boxing matches, models, intierviewing artists with nothing to say, and spotlighting flash in the pan artists that never had a career at all. I think it's about time for a change, or at least a second option.

Rhymehouse.com's main focus is to bring new and refreshing music and artists to the ears of hip hop fans around the world. We want to show you what you might have missed, what they aren't letting you listen to, and we want to give you an alternative to the music that is heard on the radio, television, and other mainstream media sources.

This is a music media website that will focus on the independent hip hop scene. A scene that is known for music with substance, soul, and consistently pumps out records that continue what this culture's foundation was built off of.

If you are looking for a change. If you want to hear something refreshing. If you want to read something real, interesting, and pertains to your everyday life-- then look no further. Our goal is to shine the light on artists that our pushing the boundaries of hip hop, that don't focus on the materialistic and trivial things in life, and that want to push this culture forward in a positive direction.

Rhymehouse.com wants to be your new source of REAL hip hop. We want to open your mind, spread great music, and help hip hop fans, MCs, DJs, Producers, B-Boys, Graffiti artists, and hip hop promoters come together to network and build.

We now open our doors and let anyone in that is interested in moving FORWARD with the music we love.
